During the Stay at Home orders I've been witnessing the kindness, love, gratitude, humor, and togetherness our homes, communities and the world are feeling and exuding right now as we find new ways to come together, while being apart. I've also gotten to witness the wealth of diversity our community has to offer in terms of both the small business owners and their shops. One new shop in particular is Penumbra, a shop for "thoughtful goods, for self and home" 

"Alison Murphy and Alyssa McClary are wives who opened Penumbra in March of 2020. Our storefront was open a whole week before NH got the Stay at Home order, so we decided for public safety to close our shop doors but continue with pick up and delivery. 

Our aesthetic is "plants we can't kill", which is even more true right now when we need to keep the plants alive in an empty shop. 

We also carry cards, prints, candles, soaps and other home goods.

Alyssa from Penumbra says plants are a great way to bring the outdoors, indoors! They also add fresh air, life, and color to your home which can aid in boosting our moods. House plants are said to improve concentration and productivity. So if you're stuck working at home, or having a hard time adjusting right now, consider adding house plants.
