It's been a hot hot Summer and this wedding took place on one of the first 94 degree Summer days for NH! Allie and Ryer literally put their sweat and tears into this day along with lots of love and laughter. 

It took place at Carter Hill where they both have spent plenty of time working and making friendships.

Allie has an infectious laugh while Ryer is the reason she is laughing. This wedding day was full of some of the most beautiful toasts, vows and moments I have had the pleasure of capturing and witnessing. 

This close knit group is full of bonds and shenanigans. 

It's my pleasure to share this sneak peak with you. I can't wait for Allie and Ryer to receive their full album so they can look back at all the heart warming moments that made this day something to smile about.

No matter what age, if 2020 was your 8th grade, high school or college graduation, you've experienced it like no other before you.

It may have been done virtually, with smaller crowds, or not at all. But that doesn't mean you can't still have a blast and be safe during a Cap and Gown portrait session. 

I had such a good time giving Carrie the opportunity to show off her cap and gown, smile, and enjoy a beautiful campus with just herself, her boyfriend and me. I enjoyed watching her shine and enjoy her moment to celebrate her hard work! 

Now she gets to share these photos with friends and family who didn't get to watch her have a traditional graduation day. 

I hope you'll all join me in wishing Carrie the best of luck in all her future endeavors.

Thank you to those who have read each and every post and followed my project! Thank you to the business owners who took the time out of their day to allow me to photograph them. Thank you to all the Concord Community customers out there. I hope these posts inspired you to go and check out the online stores, menu's, and social media pages of these wonderful and one of a kind small businesses. If I don't get anymore businesses just know that I am rooting for all of you to make it through this. I am eager, like so many, to walk back in your stores, to shop, to dine, to sing (whether you like it or not) and enjoy the company, noise, pride and compassion our community shares together.

Once known as the sleepy town, in 2014 downtown was revamped with wider side walks new lighting, public art, and gathering places. Year round there's events to keep the local community shopping, enjoying live music, dancing in the streets, and loving the capital city! 

During the week days the local restaurants and cafe's thrive off of the work force individuals. Before heading to work they prepare their mornings by stopping into their favorite coffee shop and at lunch they head to their favorite deli, salad shop, co-op and more! 

Todays feature says it all in the name. A small deli that's perfect for grabbing that breakfast or lunch on the go so you can either get back to the office, or back to your day!

I chose to do this project because I love my town and I can't wait to see it thrive again! I love the friends I've made and all the work downtown has done to make this a community you enjoy walking around. You enjoy having that dinner at. You enjoy the annual events, theatre, plays, live music and more. Today I'm featuring Tandy's Top Shelf. The place I found my "family". The karaoke family. The Market days Tandys Idol is something so many people in Concord look forward to every year. Contestants practice and perform for three months in an effort to place in the top 3 during Market Days weekend, singing to a crowd in an outside "auditorium". Singing and dancing while Tandy's Top Shelf whips up your drinks and food on a large outdoor patio. A patio built by a wonderful man and someone I looked up to, Brian, who passed earlier this year. 

I'm eager and I'm sure many of you are to sit on deck, or a patio, either at your home or at a local restaurant. I hope to see all the faces I've come to know downtown enjoying the sun, live music, and a great meal. Take this time seriously and be safe so that we can!

Those essentials just might include, the refreshing, cold sip of an IPA, Pale ale, wine, or whatever your tastes buds delight in. Never in a million years did I think you could order an alcoholic beverage with your take out order. When I think of all the parents at home with their kids getting a handle on the virtual learning, I chuckle cause I bet they are thanking God that they can order that bottle with their kids burgers and fries! But If I can get serious for a little bit. The virus and Stay at Home orders are a big hit to not only the economy but local small business and charitable efforts. Today's feature is Lithermans Limited Brewery. Many breweries are known for coming up with special brews and can's specific to a charitable cause, where the proceeds go towards that said charity. Lithermans owner, Michael was looking forward to a 4 day event that was going to help  NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence. It's a scary time right now for those who have to stay home with an abuser. Here's what their Facebook Post had to say.

Here's a little history on the company.

"It all started just like the universe - with music. Doc Jones and MHP were stuck in the same Orange box for different reasons, found themselves comparing notes on NoFX's "White Trash, Two Heebs, and A Bean," and decided to finish the conversation over a pint. One thing led to another, and pretty soon they were recording tracks together. That was the beginning of 'Lithermans Load'. A Litherman's Load is an archaic phrase for carrying too much at once. It is like returning from the grocery store with a car full of stuff, and instead of making several sensible trips you attempt to carry it all in one load. You trip on the cat and the steps, you fight with the keys, the bags rip... these silly boys thought that by recording a few times a month they were carrying too much. This continued for several years and a few dozen tracks. Eventually, making beer replaced making music, and Lithermans Limited homebrewery was born. Soon enough, the entrepreneurial bug bit, and they started writing a business plan. That was almost a decade ago. Lithermans opened its doors 4 years ago, and has focused on brewing musical spins on classic styles, with a heavy emphasis on IPAs and kettle sours. Cheers!"

One local shop owner who I feel is doing a great job at this is Elyssa. She's had a tough year as a business owner, between a flood in her store that has caused her to temporarily have to move her shop. to a few months later she had to close her doors for the Stay at Home orders. But how is she handling all this? If you ask me, it's with a smile on her face! She exudes fun, and a fighting spirit in her. The reason I'm proud to do this project is that I get the chance to meet all the wonderful owners of the places you may know and love. I'm getting to see their dedication to the community, to their customers, and I'm getting to know a little bit about them and how they're helping right now. 

It was an honor being able to photograph Stephanie from True Brew. She doesn't typically share this with her customers but aside from owning the cafe's she works for the Clinical Care unit at the Eliot Hospital. Which means, although her cafe's are closed, she is busy working through this! Working for US! 

We chose to show the diverse ways she's getting through this time. Through meditation, new recipes for the cafe, including her home-made kombucha and being the amazing health care worker that she is. I'd like to take this opportunity to speak for all of the Concord and NH community and say, THANK YOU! 

Here is the message Stephanie wanted to share with you all. 

"When Rob and I (Stephanie) first opened True Brew we had no idea how welcoming the community would be. Customers became friends, and friends became customers. The Local Store front Project was inspired by the Front Porch Project. This project aims to give the local Concord businesses a chance to reach their customers and community to let them know they’re thinking for them and to send words of encouragement! We’re all in this together and our community will thrive again! 

Over the next few days I will be uploading an image of one of the businesses and the message they wanted to send to the community. 

I will start this project with Lucky's Barbershop. I asked each owner to be as creative as they wanted to be and Josh did just that. Here is his message 

Lucky’s Barbershop opened it’s doors in 2008 and has been widely supported by its community locally and across the state and its borders for years. When the shop was initially built, it was founded on hard work, dedication and consistency. But here’s the thing about business though..word of mouth only gets people in the door, but it’s your service that keeps them coming back in. And that’s where we excel, this is our specialty! t’s not fabricated or something learned from a text book. It’s a genuine connection that’s created and curated because of the relationships that you forge and I think it’s because we wear our hearts on our sleeves for better or for worse. In over twenty years of cutting hair I never could have imagined a time where we would see and feel a global impact truly like the one we’re experiencing now. Those bonds that have been created are so strong and the need for human connection is deeper and in more of a deficit now than ever. I’ve learned a lot from the people who have entered the doors of Lucky’s. They’ve taught me to have patience, practice compassion and to understand and extend empathy. A sincere care and concern for complete strangers developed that would eventually and ultimately become trusted customers, allies, colleagues and friends. We know these times are tough, but we’re in it together. That’s something if not nothing where we can look back someday and remember that we survived and overcame this together as one. They were blessed with a beautifully sunny day that enabled us to take portraits of them and their whole family outside. The ceremony was set in a rustic lodge tavern. The fireplace was going, and you could feel the warmth in everyone's hearts. This was a family only wedding. Short, sweet, intimate. Their tears, smiles and laughs were real as they don't get to see each other often, due to work, family and distance. It was a pleasure to see them all gather during the holidays to celebrate their sisters, daughters, cousins, aunts, wedding and welcome in Andy's family as well!

I have always felt the best gifts are the ones that come from the heart. Those are the gifts that are hand made, create memories or experiences, or make you feel. Three sisters wanted to give the gift of memories and love to their mother for christmas. Their mother is always asking for pictures of all of them together and with the hustle and bustle of life, they rarely get together. These sisters were so fun and easy to take pictures of. They're beautiful and share natural smiles and laughter together. It was beautiful to see their bond happening right before my eyes. 

I was elated when I heard they couldn't wait until Christmas to give the pictures to their mom. When they showed her, she cried. That to me is the biggest compliment a photographer can receive, hearing or seeing your clients smile, laugh, or cry with happiness when they look at the images. 

Congratulations sisters, you gave the perfect Christmas gift! I hope you and your mom enjoy these images for years to come!

A family of 12 wanted updated family portraits to share with the Grandparents for Christmas. I think they'll have plenty to chose from. Sometimes the hardest part of my job is trying to narrow down how many images I'm giving to the client!

This group of brothers, sisters, children and cousins were so fun! They lasted the whole hour in the cold. Took direction well and had a great time playing in the snow.

It was the perfect time to get the family together and capture these portraits that will remind them of their last summer together as a full family living in one house! 

I let her chose the location and man was I surprised! I was in a photographers heaven! This was the perfect portrait location set with fields, barns, an old coca cola cooler, wild flowers, apple trees, etc! I could have photographed them for hours! They were also such a loving and easy family to photograph. Naturals in front of the camera. Perfect backdrop, perfect clients!

On October 14th, 2017 I photographed, witnessed, and played a part in my Dad's wedding. I've never been to a native american wedding before so it was interesting to photograph, watch and partake in. There were many traditions the bride and groom asked for. From the music, smudging, binding, and the blanket ceremony, it was certainly a spectacular ceremony to witness.

Recently I was asked to capture a talented Personal Trainer working with his clients and his passion for Brazilian Ju Jitsu. 

I was asked to select 15 images. Only 15! It's been very tough but I'm hoping he enjoys these as much as I did working with him and his clients.

Chris and I went to middle school together in Connecticut. He and his family opened up their home to me and my brother and volunteered to give us rides from school. They are still a family full of love and support for each other and those in their lives. He met the perfect woman for him 13 years ago and it all makes sense. Leah and her family bring just as much entertainment, laughter and joy as Chris's. None of them take life too seriously. Needless to say the day was a blast. I hope they enjoy the sneak peak of their images. It was hard to select only a few. I just kept finding more to touch up and show them. What does it take to have an amazing and successful Wedding Day? Expensive dress, expensive venue? Eloquent plated Dinner and hors d' oeuvres? Of course the answer to those questions are no. I had the pleasure of shooting a simple wedding at City Hall over the weekend. The bride and groom were joined by their precious daughter along with close family members. It took a little over an hour and then they were on their way to a Family Brunch together to celebrate. 

This beautiful couple shows that all you really need is love and those closest to you who mean the most. The rest is just icing on the cake.

I think we spent almost 3 hours shooting. Time flies when you're having fun. 

It felt great to get out with the camera and I feel very inspired by her and lucky to have her as my personal trainer. She's a great role model.

Apple picking for one! The local Apple Orchard near me is already stock full of apples!! I can't wait to go back and actually pick some because this time I was too busy enjoying this 15 year old natural model. She's got it down!

Had a great time in the sun yesterday morning photographing this lucky Terrior/Hound mix. Meet Cajun everybody. A rescue dog who's come a long way in 5 years. He was very friendly and a great listener even thoug he didn't understand why he wasn't allowed to run through the woods, unleashed going as far and fast as he wanted. Perhaps the reason we get these regal looks from Mr. Cajun. Gotta love that mohawk. 
His image is going to be on the cover of the 2015 SPCA Calendar. I've sent them many images to choose from. Maybe this could be the one? 
We shall see!
