It's been a hot hot Summer and this wedding took place on one of the first 94 degree Summer days for NH! Allie and Ryer literally put their sweat and tears into this day along with lots of love and laughter.

It took place at Carter Hill where they both have spent plenty of time working and making friendships.

Allie has an infectious laugh while Ryer is the reason she is laughing. This wedding day was full of some of the most beautiful toasts, vows and moments I have had the pleasure of capturing and witnessing.

This close knit group is full of bonds and shenanigans.

It's my pleasure to share this sneak peak with you. I can't wait for Allie and Ryer to receive their full album so they can look back at all the heart warming moments that made this day something to smile about.

Apple Orchard Engagement https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2021/9/apple-orchard-engagement It's that time of year! Fall is here and I had the pleasure of capturing Allison and Ryers falling in love story for their engagement.

Ryder used to work for Carter Hill Orchard so we created a date night feel of two sweethearts enjoying the Orchard together.

Their wedding will also take place at this very Orchard and I can not wait to capture their day!

Here's a sampling of their engagement/date at the Apple Farm!

Cap and Gown Portraits https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/7/cap-and-gown-portraits Covid-19 has certainly made an impact on graduating classes across the World. No matter what age, if 2020 was your 8th grade, high school or college graduation, you've experienced it like no other before you.

It may have been done virtually, with smaller crowds, or not at all. But that doesn't mean you can't still have a blast and be safe during a Cap and Gown portrait session.

I had such a good time giving Carrie the opportunity to show off her cap and gown, smile, and enjoy a beautiful campus with just herself, her boyfriend and me. I enjoyed watching her shine and enjoy her moment to celebrate her hard work!

Now she gets to share these photos with friends and family who didn't get to watch her have a traditional graduation day.

I hope you'll all join me in wishing Carrie the best of luck in all her future endeavors.

Continue to shine and smile bright!

Local Store Front Project- Concord Co Op https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project--concord-co-op "At a time when so much is uncertain and beyond our control, it is grounding to focus on the things we can influence.  We all need to eat.  How we nourish ourselves, where we get our food, and the businesses that we support are core choices within our control.  We can each play a role in fostering a strong community.  Now more than ever, the Co-op is a great place to shop, and we are grateful to be able to shop at a store that is community-minded, health-conscious, and caring.  Nourishing ourselves and families with food from the Co-op and supporting this local business has ripples of positivity that radiate out into our community.

Thanks to each of you for being a vital part in that synergy, and thanks to our Staff for making this all possible."

-Greg Lessard- Director of Development- Concord Food Co Op

Pictured below is Renee the Customer Service Manager and some of the wonderful staff who've been helping make curbside pick up and the daily needs of the customers possible! Adam-Store Manager, and Madeline, Cashier Lead.

Renee has made each of her staff face masks, three of them are featured in the photo below! She has also said how thankful she is to the many customers and community members who have also made them and delivered masks for them to stay safe while they work for us during this difficult time!

Thank you Concord Co Op, it has been the only grocery store I've visited during this time and I've enjoyed all the meals I've been making with the fresh produce!

Local Store Front Project- Red River Theatres https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project--red-river-theatres Today just might be the last post for the Local Store Front Project and I just want to take the time to say Thank you. Thank you to those who have read each and every post and followed my project! Thank you to the business owners who took the time out of their day to allow me to photograph them. Thank you to all the Concord Community customers out there. I hope these posts inspired you to go and check out the online stores, menu's, and social media pages of these wonderful and one of a kind small businesses. If I don't get anymore businesses just know that I am rooting for all of you to make it through this. I am eager, like so many, to walk back in your stores, to shop, to dine, to sing (whether you like it or not) and enjoy the company, noise, pride and compassion our community shares together.

Until then, here's today's, potentially last feature. Red River Theatre!

According to their website,
"Founding volunteers named the organization after “Red River,” a classic, 1948 Western starring John Wayne, in which the lead characters undertake an epic, nearly impossible, but ultimately successful, journey. The name seemed suitable to the challenge the community faced in creating an arthouse cinema from scratch in the state capital."

"The theater’s mission is “to present film and the discussion of film as a way to entertain, broaden horizons and deepen appreciation of life for audiences of all ages.” To that end, Red River offers a diverse program of newly-released films, classic films, film discussions, family events, and cult favorites. Conversation and civic engagement are at the heart of what makes Red River so popular in the community and so important to the New Hampshire cultural scene."

You can still enjoy film, by streaming right from home, and discussion by joining the Red River Theatre's social media pages! Take advantage of these trying times and enjoy being able to create your own theatre at home. Make popcorn, purchase your movie "ticket" and sit back and enjoy the show!

Julie (Marketing Manager) and Angie (Executive Director) have this to say to their fans and community!

"We miss having everyone here at the theater, but thanks to you, our friends and fans, the Red River Theatres community spirit is thriving from afar! Check out our Virtual Cinema, full of films you can stream at home, at redrivertheatres.org, and join us on social media (@red_river_theatres) for film news, activities and contests. To support the theater, you can also become a member or make a donation at our website. Thanks so much for being part of Red River, and we're looking forward to welcoming you back soon! #yourindiecinema #redrivertheatres #redriverNH"

Just Keeping Swimming All! We will get through this!

Local Store Front Project- Brown Bag Deli https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project--brown-bag-deli Downtown Concord has come a long way over the years. Once known as the sleepy town, in 2014 downtown was revamped with wider side walks new lighting, public art, and gathering places. Year round there's events to keep the local community shopping, enjoying live music, dancing in the streets, and loving the capital city!

During the week days the local restaurants and cafe's thrive off of the work force individuals. Before heading to work they prepare their mornings by stopping into their favorite coffee shop and at lunch they head to their favorite deli, salad shop, co-op and more!

Todays feature says it all in the name. A small deli that's perfect for grabbing that breakfast or lunch on the go so you can either get back to the office, or back to your day!

"The Brown Bag Deli is a local family owned Deli located in Concord, NH. We are located across from the State Capital. We are your familiar lunch spot with many regulars and yummy sandwiches. We have specials daily with a large selection of breads to choose from. Come grab breakfast or lunch with the majority of our meals and a drink under $10.

Our wide selection of sandwiches is a constant favorite among our customers. We pride ourselves on only carrying the highest-quality products."

For now they are offering take out.

Head on over to their Facebook today to follow them, call them, or stop over to order and say hello!

Local Store Front Project- Crust and Crumb https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project--crust-and-crumb One of the first things that started selling out during the announcement of the pandemic and the stay at home orders was flour and yeast. Two major ingredients to make bread. Bread for sandwiches, bread to go with pasta, that perfect avocado toast. Either way, its clear many us want to make sure we do not run out of that delicious carb.

If you don't have flour or yeast or any desire to use this time to become a baker, allow your local baker to take care of that for you!

Skip the mess in the kitchen and order cookies, pies, breads and more from Crust and Crumb!

"Starting out at local farmers markets, The Crust and Crumb grew great relationships with local producers and growers which allows us to make amazing food from locally sourced ingredients.  As the first (and currently only) Certified Local bakery in New Hampshire with The Farm to Restaurant Connection, we are proud to be part of such an amazing community.

Because we make everything from scratch and by hand, we're able to customize orders and make things especially for you.  Have a hankering for something?  Give us a call, we'll do what we can to help you out. Maybe you just really wanted a key lime pie, we probably don't have one in the case, but give us a little time and we'll make one for you. It'll be made the old fashioned way, with homemade graham cracker crust (we actually make the graham crackers ourselves) and real key lime juice."

They are offering pick up and delivery to your car or your home!  If you are in search of those staples, flour, sugar, yeast, even toilet paper! You can order these through Crust and Crumb! But trust me, after smelling their bakery, you best let them do the baking.

Shop Local and Be well!

Local Store Front Project- Tandys Top Shelf https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project--tandys-top-shelf This post hits a little close to home. I chose to do this project because I love my town and I can't wait to see it thrive again! I love the friends I've made and all the work downtown has done to make this a community you enjoy walking around. You enjoy having that dinner at. You enjoy the annual events, theatre, plays, live music and more. Today I'm featuring Tandy's Top Shelf. The place I found my "family". The karaoke family. The Market days Tandys Idol is something so many people in Concord look forward to every year. Contestants practice and perform for three months in an effort to place in the top 3 during Market Days weekend, singing to a crowd in an outside "auditorium". Singing and dancing while Tandy's Top Shelf whips up your drinks and food on a large outdoor patio. A patio built by a wonderful man and someone I looked up to, Brian, who passed earlier this year.

I'm eager and I'm sure many of you are to sit on deck, or a patio, either at your home or at a local restaurant. I hope to see all the faces I've come to know downtown enjoying the sun, live music, and a great meal. Take this time seriously and be safe so that we can!

Until then Greg and his team at Tandy's are still making great meals to go for you!

"Lunch, or Dinner
It’s always good at Tandy's"

"Time flies, and an hour is never long enough when it comes to happy hour. That’s why we choose to bend time a little. At Tandy’s, happy hour extends from 2pm to 10pm, every day. With delicious specials and plenty of seating to go around, Tandy’s has quickly become a lunch and dinner destination of choice for the Concord area.

But we don’t draw the line at great prices and a large menu with plenty of fantastic options. With nightly entertainment ranging from weekly open mics and karaoke, to live DJ’s and dancing, Tandy’s has quickly become Concord’s destination of choice for anyone that’s looking for a good time.

We’re open every day of the week, with events happening all the time.

We look forward to seeing you!"

For now. Call 603-856-7614 to place a to go order! They are featuring weekly specials on meals and drinks.

Local Store Front Project- Lithermen's Brewery https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project--lithermens-brewery While the stay at home orders may have many of us having a roller coaster of emotions, I think we can all appreciate how creative the businesses have been in order to still deliver us the things we love, and the "essentials". Those essentials just might include, the refreshing, cold sip of an IPA, Pale ale, wine, or whatever your tastes buds delight in. Never in a million years did I think you could order an alcoholic beverage with your take out order. When I think of all the parents at home with their kids getting a handle on the virtual learning, I chuckle cause I bet they are thanking God that they can order that bottle with their kids burgers and fries! But If I can get serious for a little bit. The virus and Stay at Home orders are a big hit to not only the economy but local small business and charitable efforts. Today's feature is Lithermans Limited Brewery. Many breweries are known for coming up with special brews and can's specific to a charitable cause, where the proceeds go towards that said charity. Lithermans owner, Michael was looking forward to a 4 day event that was going to help  NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence. It's a scary time right now for those who have to stay home with an abuser. Here's what their Facebook Post had to say.

"We had planned a four-day celebration THIS weekend to benefit the New Hampshire Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence. Unfortunately, it's being rescheduled. Their services are needed more than ever. If you can, please go and donate:" https://www.nhcadsv.org/iwillsurvive.html

The Beer is called. I WILL SURVIVE. If you'd like to show support by purchasing the special can they released for the beer here is their website. Or as their event poster said. "Help yourself to one, and help somebody else." https://lithermans.beer
@lithermans_ltd   Facebook- Lithermans Limited Brewery

Many of their selections are sold in the local restaurants so feel free to ask which Lithermans cans they have available the next time you place an order!

Here's a little history on the company.

"It all started just like the universe - with music. Doc Jones and MHP were stuck in the same Orange box for different reasons, found themselves comparing notes on NoFX's "White Trash, Two Heebs, and A Bean," and decided to finish the conversation over a pint. One thing led to another, and pretty soon they were recording tracks together. That was the beginning of 'Lithermans Load'. A Litherman's Load is an archaic phrase for carrying too much at once. It is like returning from the grocery store with a car full of stuff, and instead of making several sensible trips you attempt to carry it all in one load. You trip on the cat and the steps, you fight with the keys, the bags rip... these silly boys thought that by recording a few times a month they were carrying too much. This continued for several years and a few dozen tracks. Eventually, making beer replaced making music, and Lithermans Limited homebrewery was born. Soon enough, the entrepreneurial bug bit, and they started writing a business plan. That was almost a decade ago. Lithermans opened its doors 4 years ago, and has focused on brewing musical spins on classic styles, with a heavy emphasis on IPAs and kettle sours. Cheers!"

Local Store Front Project- Lilise Designer Resale https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project--lilise-designer-resale Do you ever feel like some years just aren't your year? I'd say we might all be feeling like that right now. What ways do you try and stay positive? What ways do you try and live for the moment and not stress about the past or future? I think what's working for many people right now is humor, community, and creativity. If you can try and incorporate some of this into your day right now, see if it helps!

One local shop owner who I feel is doing a great job at this is Elyssa. She's had a tough year as a business owner, between a flood in her store that has caused her to temporarily have to move her shop. to a few months later she had to close her doors for the Stay at Home orders. But how is she handling all this? If you ask me, it's with a smile on her face! She exudes fun, and a fighting spirit in her. Her posts are always positive and her live videos keep you smiling. For more information on how to keep up with her or support her business during this time, see her message below!

"We miss all of our customers at Lilise Designer Resale so much! Coming in person to LDR for some inspiration, a new treasure, and a chat is really what makes us special. Between the flood in December and now this... it’s been tough to go without seeing the familiar faces we’re used to! In the meantime, you can keep in touch with us on Instagram and Facebook where we are posting items for sale daily and doing live-streams Wednesdays and Saturdays at 3pm! Check out our hashtag: #couchsaleswithLDR to shop at LDR online! We’d like to thank our amazing and loyal customers and the local business community for sticking with us through the last 3.5 years and we can’t wait to see you all back in the shop! Feel free to tag us wearing your LDR pieces by using hashtag #shopatLDR! Thank you all!"

Local Store Front Project-True Brew Barista https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project-true-brew-barista The reason I started this project was for my love of Concord. The reason I'm proud to do this project is that I get the chance to meet all the wonderful owners of the places you may know and love. I'm getting to see their dedication to the community, to their customers, and I'm getting to know a little bit about them and how they're helping right now.

It was an honor being able to photograph Stephanie from True Brew. She doesn't typically share this with her customers but aside from owning the cafe's she works for the Clinical Care unit at the Eliot Hospital. Which means, although her cafe's are closed, she is busy working through this! Working for US!

We chose to show the diverse ways she's getting through this time. Through meditation, new recipes for the cafe, including her home-made kombucha and being the amazing health care worker that she is. I'd like to take this opportunity to speak for all of the Concord and NH community and say, THANK YOU!

Here is the message Stephanie wanted to share with you all.

"When Rob and I (Stephanie) first opened True Brew we had no idea how welcoming the community would be. Customers became friends, and friends became customers. During these difficult times it's hard not to see you all! We will be here waiting for you when this is over. In the meantime we are working on new products and getting back to basics. I am doing my part helping to take care of those affected by COVID-19. Stay Home, Stay Safe, we will see you very soon!"

Local Store Front Project- Salon Envy https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project--salon-envy If there's one thing I think we can all agree on its how much we miss our beauty experts! I myself could really use a few appointments!! (Send help)

Paula and Courtney are missing their clients and this message from Paula was so beautifully stated, that I don't think it needs any further explanation.

"Tucked quietly within the confines of Eagle Square is a hair salon. Paula Blais, owner, master stylist, and certified colorist has been in the business of hair for over three decades.
Salon Envy opened it's doors in the fall of 2011 with a desire to give each guest a memorable and satisfying experience.
We are always learning, striving to be better and steadily evolving into a strong culture of creativity, positivity, and professionalism. We offer our guests a unique experience as well as membership programs which has provided us with a broad and loyal fan base.
We have been through many changes over the 8 and 1/2 years of service to our community. Change is inevitable. We can't escape it. But this unforseen pandemic is by far the kind of change that has blindsided us all.
Never have I ever thought that a day would come where I would be restricted from performing my craft. Currently, I look for other creative outlets at home to keep me from going stir crazy. But I have solace in knowing that every day that passes is another day closer to when I and my staff will be back in the salon, in a happy place where we can create beauty again.Other than spending time with my family, there's no other place I'd rather be.  The relationships I have built, the lives I have touched, and those that have touched mine, are the sole reasons I continue to be a part of this industry. I truly believe that this is what I was born to do.
Courtney and I miss you terribly! We are ready to make a fresh start as we've been busy learning new techniques and industry secrets with some very notable beauty industry leaders. We are so excited to start implementing them. And it goes without saying that we hope you are staying safe and we look forward to getting you back in the chair!

PS. Be prepared for hugs!"

Local Store Front Project- Viking House https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project--viking-house The coronavirus and Stay at Home orders are affecting many yearly celebrations, birthdays, holidays, weddings, events and more. Downtown Concord features so many wonderful and one of kind stores to shop for the perfect gift, card, flowers, etc. They're having to use their creativity and technology to help customers shop for gifts that they can still ship or give at home to their loved ones.

One of these stores has been in Concord since 1983, and that is The Viking House. A destination shop and big hit with travelers. Their website states that they are known for "featuring a delightful selection of Scandinavian and European gifts, as well as a variety of items made in the US (that Europeans would most certainly enjoy), you’re bound to find the perfect gift for that upcoming wedding, holiday celebration, or treasure for someone special! While you’re here, be sure to grab a yummy treat from our extensive assortment of imported European food!"

You can check out their virtual shopping options via Skype or appointment over the phone. They are also offering curbside pick up a few times a week. For more details you can visit them on Facebook or instagram @vikinghouseconcord

Local Store Front Project- Bona Fide Green Goods https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project--bona-fide-green-goods I think I speak for us all when I say, what a blessing it is to live in a time of technology. It is the one thing connecting us all together during this time. Because of technology we can still see our parents and loved ones faces. We can still have game nights, or girls nights. More importantly, for the local businesses, we can still shop online! Today's feature is Bona Fide Green Goods. When I asked them if they had to change anything online, Amanda said, "we had to adjust everything. Running an online business is much different than a store front and our website wasn't ready. Quickly adapting to change and educating ourselves on how to survive this as a retail business is scary, but we are doing it!"

Bona Fide Green Goods is a retail store offering home goods that are natural, sustainably sourced, eco-friendly and plastic free! Here is their message to our community!

"Since 2007 Bona Fide Green Goods has been a staple in downtown Concord, NH. Bringing the community not only purposeful products but education and hope for the future. As new owners we truly believe in the mission and have been overwhelmed by the support this past year. We just want you to know we will get through this together and can't wait to see you all again! In the meantime, you can shop online at www.bonafidegreengoods.com.

Greenly, Mandy, Amanda, Mike and Ryan."

They do have masks, and they are doing curbside pick up as well!!

Local Store Front Project- Penumbra https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project--penumbra During the Stay at Home orders I've been witnessing the kindness, love, gratitude, humor, and togetherness our homes, communities and the world are feeling and exuding right now as we find new ways to come together, while being apart. I've also gotten to witness the wealth of diversity our community has to offer in terms of both the small business owners and their shops. One new shop in particular is Penumbra, a shop for "thoughtful goods, for self and home"

"Alison Murphy and Alyssa McClary are wives who opened Penumbra in March of 2020. Our storefront was open a whole week before NH got the Stay at Home order, so we decided for public safety to close our shop doors but continue with pick up and delivery.

Our aesthetic is "plants we can't kill", which is even more true right now when we need to keep the plants alive in an empty shop.

We also carry cards, prints, candles, soaps and other home goods.

We love to help people find the best plants for their space!

You can message us on Facebook, or Instagram @penumbra.shop

or email [email protected] anytime!"

Alyssa from Penumbra says plants are a great way to bring the outdoors, indoors! They also add fresh air, life, and color to your home which can aid in boosting our moods. House plants are said to improve concentration and productivity. So if you're stuck working at home, or having a hard time adjusting right now, consider adding house plants.

Local Store Front Project- Concord Photo Service https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project--concord-camera-store There's one thing photography has always meant to me and that's capturing moments and memories. Memories of your favorite places, loved ones, pets, events and more. It's a beautiful thing to see someone smile when they look at pictures of their wedding day, vacation, birthdays, graduation, etc.

Concord Photo Service, formally Concord Camera Store, says now is the perfect time to dig out all your photo's to bring those smiles to your face while you're stuck inside. If you haven't already, maybe now you can make a scrap book, back up your photo's, have them re-touched or simply, order prints!

Michael, from Concord Camera stated, "We want all our customers to be safe. These are unusual times and we look forward to a time of being able to connect face to face with our customers."

For now, curbside pickup and drop off are available from 10am-5pm Monday through Saturday. Or checkout their website which is available 24/7!

Local Store Front Project- Revelstoke Coffee https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project--revelstoke-coffee The Coronavirus has challenged many businesses to adapt quickly to change. From adhering to strict cleanliness guidelines, to groups of 50 or less, to groups of 10 less, to closing all non-essential businesses. Revelstoke is just one of the many small businesses downtown who went through this rollercoaster. Lyndsay and Alex Closed their doors on March 21st and by March 30th had a brand new online shop, so their customers could still purchase coffee beans, Revelstoke apparel and travel mugs.

"The love and loyalty that Concord Showed us during our first year in business was totally overwhelming.

During the Coronavirus crisis, we've seen more love and support than ever, leaving us humbled and eternally grateful to be a part of such a special community. "

Their Facebook message further states that they can not wait to see their customers again, once we MAKE IT through these tough times.

Cause we will.

Hang in there everyone!

Visit their online store at- In store pick up available as well!

Local Store Front Project- Make Up with a Message https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project--make-up-with-a-message

Today's post comes with the message of THIS TOO SHALL PASS. This is a time of uncertainty, and an unprecedented moment in history. However as a community we can get through this together. We all have it in us to make the most of this time. All we have is time, and each other right now.

Veronica has been a local spa owner and make up artist in Concord for many years but had just so happened to have created a new make up line called, Make up with a Message. She launched her website March 31st and decided not to let the Stay at Home orders affect her decision. She says, now more than ever women could use these messages! Each item you purchase comes with an encouraging message that is postcard size so you can post it on your mirror, put in your journal, wallet or give to a friend! The make up is available online and can be shipped right to your home!

Available here! www.makeupwithamessage.com

Once the local businesses open again be sure to visit Veronica at Spa Specialist Beauty Within

Local Store Front Project- Lucky's Barbershop https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/4/local-store-front-project--luckys-barbershop The Stay at home orders and Coronavirus are affecting everyone! Many are looking for ways to keep themselves busy, or use creativity as an outlet. Many photographers of course, are choosing creativity! The Local Store front Project was inspired by the Front Porch Project. This project aims to give the local Concord businesses a chance to reach their customers and community to let them know they’re thinking for them and to send words of encouragement! We’re all in this together and our community will thrive again!

Over the next few days I will be uploading an image of one of the businesses and the message they wanted to send to the community.

I will start this project with Lucky's Barbershop. I asked each owner to be as creative as they wanted to be and Josh did just that. Here is his message

Lucky’s Barbershop opened it’s doors in 2008 and has been widely supported by its community locally and across the state and its borders for years. When the shop was initially built, it was founded on hard work, dedication and consistency. But here’s the thing about business though..word of mouth only gets people in the door, but it’s your service that keeps them coming back in. And that’s where we excel, this is our specialty! t’s not fabricated or something learned from a text book. It’s a genuine connection that’s created and curated because of the relationships that you forge and I think it’s because we wear our hearts on our sleeves for better or for worse. In over twenty years of cutting hair I never could have imagined a time where we would see and feel a global impact truly like the one we’re experiencing now. Those bonds that have been created are so strong and the need for human connection is deeper and in more of a deficit now than ever. I’ve learned a lot from the people who have entered the doors of Lucky’s. They’ve taught me to have patience, practice compassion and to understand and extend empathy. A sincere care and concern for complete strangers developed that would eventually and ultimately become trusted customers, allies, colleagues and friends. We know these times are tough, but we’re in it together. That’s something if not nothing where we can look back someday and remember that we survived and overcame this together as one. And that’s what I’m thankful for, and that’s what I look forward to most- is the people. -Josh Craggy/Lucky’s Barbershop

Winter Wedding https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2020/1/winter-wedding Over the Holidays I had the pleasure of shooting Andy and Courtney's wedding in Merrimack, NH. They were blessed with a beautifully sunny day that enabled us to take portraits of them and their whole family outside. The ceremony was set in a rustic lodge tavern. The fireplace was going, and you could feel the warmth in everyone's hearts. This was a family only wedding. Short, sweet, intimate. Their tears, smiles and laughs were real as they don't get to see each other often, due to work, family and distance. It was a pleasure to see them all gather during the holidays to celebrate their sisters, daughters, cousins, aunts, wedding and welcome in Andy's family as well!

Here's to you Andy and Courtney, may you both have many years of happiness and love together!

Sibling Winter Photoshoot https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2019/12/sibling-winter-photoshoot It's that time of year to buy gifts for those you know and love. I have always felt the best gifts are the ones that come from the heart. Those are the gifts that are hand made, create memories or experiences, or make you feel. Three sisters wanted to give the gift of memories and love to their mother for christmas. Their mother is always asking for pictures of all of them together and with the hustle and bustle of life, they rarely get together. These sisters were so fun and easy to take pictures of. They're beautiful and share natural smiles and laughter together. It was beautiful to see their bond happening right before my eyes.

I was elated when I heard they couldn't wait until Christmas to give the pictures to their mom. When they showed her, she cried. That to me is the biggest compliment a photographer can receive, hearing or seeing your clients smile, laugh, or cry with happiness when they look at the images.

Congratulations sisters, you gave the perfect Christmas gift! I hope you and your mom enjoy these images for years to come!

If you need christmas gifts, birthday, mothers day, fathers day, etc. Please consider reaching out to me or your local photographer. We can help make sure a truly heart felt gift is delivered!

Happy Holidays!

ROOT UP- Your local shop for spiritual mediumship https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2019/11/root-up--your-local-shop-for-spiritual-mediumship I had the pleasure of photographing headshots and more for a new local shop. Sarah and Tyler Wedding Day https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2019/8/sarah-and-tyler-wedding-day There's lots of different ways you can plan and have your wedding day. But I've found and witnessed that the best thing about weddings is the moments with friends and family. Whether it be a small or big wedding. It doesn't need to be $40,000 to be an amazing wedding. Because if you have the people you love there the most, they will make the memories on your day count, and matter.

Sarah and Tylers wedding was just that. Small, intimate, and done, just right. They were blessed with a sunny day, and had the patience for the humidity too!

I hope this sneak peak of their wedding images brings them back to their best moments of their day.

Congratulations Sarah and Tyler and here's to a happy life together!

BIG BROTHER GETS MARRIED https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2019/4/big-brother-gets-married I had the pleasure of capturing some of the details, before and during the ceremony moments for my Brothers wedding.

It truly was a family affair. The whole family, and close friends of the family did everything to help, plan, set up, decorate, and tear down for his special day.

I'm in love with all of the smiles, laughing, and family moments I have to share in these images. Cousins dancing with their aunts, husbands and wives dancing, grandparents laughing and dancing, fathers, mothers, step mothers, step fathers. It truly was a day for family to celebrate and I hope they enjoy their images for years to come.

To you big brother, Here's to a lifetime of happiness for you, Aimee, Oliver and Arianna. Cheers!

Winter Family Portrait Session https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2018/11/winter-family-portrait-session Tis the season for snow, sleds, laughter and cheer. I had the pleasure of combining all of those things for a fun family photo shoot during Thanksgiving weekend.

A family of 12 wanted updated family portraits to share with the Grandparents for Christmas. I think they'll have plenty to chose from. Sometimes the hardest part of my job is trying to narrow down how many images I'm giving to the client!

This group of brothers, sisters, children and cousins were so fun! They lasted the whole hour in the cold. Took direction well and had a great time playing in the snow.

Here's their sneak peak!

Family Portrait Summer Session https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2018/8/family-portrait-summer-session I was honored to be asked by a good friend of mine to capture updated family photos for her. They hadn't had their family photos professionally done in over 6 years and her oldest daughter was heading off to college soon. It was the perfect time to get the family together and capture these portraits that will remind them of their last summer together as a full family living in one house!

I let her chose the location and man was I surprised! I was in a photographers heaven! This was the perfect portrait location set with fields, barns, an old coca cola cooler, wild flowers, apple trees, etc! I could have photographed them for hours! They were also such a loving and easy family to photograph. Naturals in front of the camera. Perfect backdrop, perfect clients!

Below are some of my favorites and I think these will definitely fill their household walls for the next several years!

Native American Wedding https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2017/10/native-american-wedding This post is very close to my heart. On October 14th, 2017 I photographed, witnessed, and played a part in my Dad's wedding. I've never been to a native american wedding before so it was interesting to photograph, watch and partake in. There were many traditions the bride and groom asked for. From the music, smudging, binding, and the blanket ceremony, it was certainly a spectacular ceremony to witness.

I hope my Dad and Ellen enjoy these images and I wish them many years of joy and love together!

Fall Portraits with my Partner https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2017/10/fall-portraits-with-my-partner Fall in New England is my favorite time of year. It's still warm, it's colorful, there are so many opportunities to get outside and enjoy nature, food, community, and other activities. So I decided my Girlfriend and I needed to have an impromptu photo shoot! We haven't used my camera for pictures together like this since we met. I'm also posting pictures of me that she took, how rare it is for me to be in front of the camera! I'm sure we'll be printing some of these soon! What a great Fall Sunday Date!!

Maia Movement https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2017/5/maia-movement Action shots!

Action shots are something I love capturing. Movement, children dancing at weddings, a father tossing his son in the air as the boy giggles, karate, waterfalls, these are the types of shot I have always enjoyed capturing the most.

Recently I was asked to capture a talented Personal Trainer working with his clients and his passion for Brazilian Ju Jitsu.

I was asked to select 15 images. Only 15! It's been very tough but I'm hoping he enjoys these as much as I did working with him and his clients.

Connecticut Wedding https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2016/8/connecticut-wedding I was very happy to be the selected photographer for Chris and Leah. Chris and I went to middle school together in Connecticut. He and his family opened up their home to me and my brother and volunteered to give us rides from school. They are still a family full of love and support for each other and those in their lives. He met the perfect woman for him 13 years ago and it all makes sense. Leah and her family bring just as much entertainment, laughter and joy as Chris's. None of them take life too seriously. Needless to say the day was a blast. I hope they enjoy the sneak peak of their images. It was hard to select only a few. I just kept finding more to touch up and show them. They will certainly have a full album to cherish for years to come. After 13 years we all can say, finally Kacy!

It was a cool, cloudy day for Kate and David last weekend at the Portsmouth Country Club but it was full of fun, laughter and love. What a fun couple, entertaining friends and loving family.

This couple knows how to throw a party! Here's a sneak peak for them that I hope they'll enjoy for themselves and friends until they recieve the rest of their images.

Groomsmen https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2015/9/groomsmen Today I detailed for an upcoming October Wedding. I've known these two since College and after 7 years they are finally going to tie the knot. I'm pretty sure this wedding party is going to be lots of fun. It reminded me of the wedding party from August. These 4 groomsmen were the goofiest I've shot yet. Here's a character shot.

Simply Beautiful Wedding https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2015/6/simply-beautiful-wedding
What does it take to have an amazing and successful Wedding Day? Expensive dress, expensive venue? Eloquent plated Dinner and hors d' oeuvres? Of course the answer to those questions are no. I had the pleasure of shooting a simple wedding at City Hall over the weekend. The bride and groom were joined by their precious daughter along with close family members. It took a little over an hour and then they were on their way to a Family Brunch together to celebrate.

This beautiful couple shows that all you really need is love and those closest to you who mean the most. The rest is just icing on the cake.

I think we spent almost 3 hours shooting. Time flies when you're having fun.

It felt great to get out with the camera and I feel very inspired by her and lucky to have her as my personal trainer. She's a great role model.

Headshots for Natural Healing Business https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2014/9/headshots-for-natural-healing-business Had a wonderful afternoon today capturing headshots for a local business. Jessica and her team met with me at the State House Lawn. Beautiful backdrop. Their energies shined through and the hour went by quickly as they posed, smiled and laughed. Here's a quick pic of the Owner of All Elements Healing. Beautiful! Her and her staff make it their business to get you feeling beautiful inside and out as well, whether it be through Reiki, massage, readings, nutrition consultations and more!

If you haven't yet, check them out!

Apple Picking Season https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2014/9/apple-picking-season As much as I hate to watch Summer leave I can't help but enjoy what Fall season brings.

Apple picking for one! The local Apple Orchard near me is already stock full of apples!! I can't wait to go back and actually pick some because this time I was too busy enjoying this 15 year old natural model. She's got it down!

More will be on the way, here are some sneak peaks.

Cajun Pet Portrait https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2014/8/cajun-pet-portrait

Had a great time in the sun yesterday morning photographing this lucky Terrior/Hound mix. Meet Cajun everybody. A rescue dog who's come a long way in 5 years. He was very friendly and a great listener even thoug he didn't understand why he wasn't allowed to run through the woods, unleashed going as far and fast as he wanted. Perhaps the reason we get these regal looks from Mr. Cajun. Gotta love that mohawk.
His image is going to be on the cover of the 2015 SPCA Calendar. I've sent them many images to choose from. Maybe this could be the one?
We shall see!

Precious moments https://www.janellespraguephotography.com/blog/2014/7/precious-moments Janelle Sprague Photography is all about capturing the moment. This image is blowing up on Facebook right now because it perfectly captures the mother daughter bond between a muciscian and her child.

Be sure to follow my facebook page to make sure you aren't missing out on images like this one being posted regularly.

You can also find other images from the muscians and events that happened on this same evening.
